Fire District 1’s administrative staff and training operations are based at the Headquarters and Training Center campus just off Interstate 5 near the 128th Street SW exit south of Everett.
The Fire District 1 Board of Commissioners meets here. Business meetings take place on the first and third Tuesday of each month, beginning at 7 p.m. Work sessions are held at 6 p.m. on the second and third Tuesday of each month. All meetings are open to the public.
The Training Center campus features a multi-functional training tower and props as well as classrooms equipped with wireless computer technology, projectors and video-conferencing capabilities to facilitate firefighter training. The three-story tower simulates conditions firefighters encounter in the most common structures found in Fire District 1: one and two-story homes and mid-rise apartment complexes and buildings. Synthetic smoke can be used to create fire-like conditions throughout the building. Live fire and burning in the tower is prohibited.
