Important Updates:

Snohomish County Fire District 1 and the Lynnwood Fire Department consolidated on Oct. 1 to become South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.

This website will be in transition during October to become the website for the new department. Pages should have full functionality during the transition, but some pages may still carry the Fire District 1 name until an update is complete.

If you have any issues with website use during the transition, please contact Leslie Hynes, 425-551-1243.

South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue has four platoons of firefighters who work on a rotating schedule to provide around-the-clock staffing at 14 neighborhood fire stations. Two battalion chiefs oversee each platoon and captains provide supervision at the station level. All firefighters through the level of battalion chief are represented by IAFF Local 1828.

Firefighters begin and end their 24-hour shifts at 8 a.m. All firefighters are certified as either emergency medical technicians or paramedics so they can respond to emergency medical calls as well as fires.
