Important Updates:

Snohomish County Fire District 1 and the Lynnwood Fire Department consolidated on Oct. 1 to become South Snohomish County Fire & Rescue.

This website will be in transition during October to become the website for the new department. Pages should have full functionality during the transition, but some pages may still carry the Fire District 1 name until an update is complete.

If you have any issues with website use during the transition, please contact Leslie Hynes, 425-551-1243.

Our Technical Rescue Team is made up of firefighters trained with advanced specialty rescue training. Martha Lake Fire Station 21 is home to the team and TR21, a specialized truck stocked with equipment and tools to support the mission of the team. Team members are on duty at the station 24/7.

We are also part of the Snohomish County Technical Rescue Team, which provides regional response through nine participating jurisdictions. Combining resources into a single regional team allows pooling of resources and sharing of equipment to respond efficiently and effectively.

Members of the technical rescue team have specialized training for:

  • Collapsed buildings
  • Urban search and rescue
  • Trench cave-ins
  • Confined-space rescues
  • Ice and surface water rescues
  • High- and low-angle rope rescue systems
